INDUSTRIAL AIR EFFICIENCY / AUTOMATION
CONFECTIONERY MANUFACTURING
MALAYSIA — SILVENT MALAYSIA
CONTEXT
On high-speed confectionery lines, chocolates occasionally stack on top of each other as they travel along the conveyor. The wrapping machine fails to detect the double stack and wraps two chocolates in a single wrapper — a defect that passes quality checks undetected and reaches the end customer.
THE CHALLENGE
The manufacturer needed stacked-chocolate defects identified and rejected automatically, without slowing production speed or requiring manual operator intervention on the line.
KSM'S ROLE
The Silvent and KSM Phoenix engineering team designed and built a custom automated detection and rejection application for the production line.
THE SOLUTION
The system detects when chocolates have stacked on the conveyor and deploys a targeted Silvent air blow to eject the defective stack before it reaches the wrapping station. Silvent precision air nozzles were selected for their controlled, powerful and highly directional airflow — strong enough to reliably reject stacked chocolates, precise enough not to disturb adjacent products moving correctly along the line.
OUTCOME
The solution eliminated double-wrapped chocolate defects, automating a quality control function that previously relied on manual line supervision. Production speed was maintained and the manufacturer gained a reliable, low-maintenance rejection system.
