Today, KSM Group operates as a multidisciplinary engineering group across five specialized businesses — serving critical industries from oil & gas and power generation, to healthcare and precision manufacturing across Malaysia and Asia Pacific. Built on reliability, deep technical expertise, and partnerships forged over decades, we deliver engineering solutions that work in the real world
KSM Group began its journey in 1983 as Kejuruteraan Semangat Maju — an electrical engineering company providing inverter and power-related services to Malaysian industry.
Over four decades, the group has evolved steadily — expanding from its roots in electrical protection and control into industrial noise control and silencer fabrication, then into advanced acoustic consultancy and sound engineering, and most recently into precision healthcare with the launch of NOVICOMEDIC, delivering patient-specific 3D-printed implants to surgeons across Southeast Asia.
What began as a single engineering practice has grown into five specialized businesses and now each built on the same founding principles of technical rigor, honest partnership, and a commitment to getting the job done right.

Our Journey
Over forty years, KSM Group has grown from a single electrical engineering practice into a diversified engineering group with five specialized businesses and each built on the expertise and trust established in the decade before it.
Our journey is not one of rapid expansion for its own sake. It is a story of careful, deliberate growth — adding new capabilities when we had the depth of expertise and the right partnerships to deliver them with confidence.

Established in Kuala Lumpur, introducing AC inverters and power-related services to Malaysian industry. A two-person electrical engineering practice with one conviction: do the technical work right.

Ventured into industrial noise control through a joint venture with Brüel & Kjær (B&K) — one of the world's most respected acoustic measurement and vibration technology companies, headquartered in Denmark.
An early signal that KSM was thinking beyond Malaysia from the start. -
PHOENIX Noise Control was established to design and manufacture our own range of industrial silencers and noise control solutions — moving from distribution to in-house engineering and fabrication.

NOVICO ENGINEERING was launched to provide environmental monitoring and acoustic consultancy services — extending KSM's expertise from industrial noise fabrication into measurement, compliance, and advisory work.

VTR by KSM was established and began manufacturing silencers from our own fabrication facility — giving the group full control over quality, lead time, and technical standards from design through to delivery.

KSM's founders made a deliberate choice early on , instead of chasing every opportunity, they went deep in one direction: power protection.
The conviction was simple. Every factory, every power plant, every critical facility would eventually need systems smart enough to protect themselves. In 1995, that conviction became a formal technology partnership. Three decades on, as Malaysia transitions toward smarter grids and renewable energy, that early bet sits exactly where the world is heading.

KSM began exporting silencers internationally — reaching customers in Australia, Taiwan, Brunei, and Singapore.
What started as a Malaysian engineering firm was now delivering fabricated noise control solutions across Asia Pacific and beyond. -
By 2000, KSM's understanding of industrial noise had grown well beyond silencers and enclosures. Noise, the founders recognised, was not just a structural problem — it lived in compressed air systems, pneumatic tools, and production lines too.
That insight led KSM to Silvent, a Swedish pioneer in precision industrial air solutions — engineering air nozzles, air knives, and pneumatic systems that reduce noise, improve operator safety, and cut compressed air costs across manufacturing environments. Another quiet problem. Another deliberate step toward solving it.

After more than three decades of growth, Kejuruteraan Semangat Maju rebranded to KSM Group — reflecting the evolution from a single engineering practice into a diversified group of specialised businesses. Same founding values. Stronger identity.

VTR by KSM established and implemented a full HSE (Health, Safety & Environment) Management System, achieving ISO 14001 certification — formalising the group's commitment to environmental management and safe fabrication operations.

NOVICOMEDIC was established and launched operations in both Singapore and Malaysia — bringing patient-specific 3D-printed cranio-maxillofacial implants to surgeons across Southeast Asia. The most ambitious and distinctive expansion in KSM Group's 39-year history: applying precision engineering principles to transform surgical outcomes.

ISO 14001 Environmental Management
We run Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) annually to audit our practices and reassess what we can do better to manage waste and minimize pollution to the environment.
When it comes to industrial waste disposal, we hire qualified and specialized waste disposal company to collect and treat the waste.

ISO 45001 Occupational Health and Safety
We practice Hazard Identification, Risk Assessment and Control (HIRAC) at our workspace to manage health and safety risks posed by the equipment, environment, and operational requirement.
To foster a zero lost time injury (LTI) and safe workplace, we perform safety inspections on tools and equipment, on a monthly and quarterly basis. For tools that we use more frequently, so is the inspection cadence.
That aside, we take communicating safety-related action plan and policies seriously. Our safety committee meets quarterly to check in on health and safety-related issues to align best practices with our crew.
Our emergency preparedness and response plan helps us to be ready for the worst. We organize fire and flood drills on a regular basis.
Management of the Covid-19 Pandemic
On top of observing the standard operating procedures to curb the spread of the Covid-19, we procure self testing kits for our employees to check their status frequently and conveniently. Carbon dioxide measurement machine has been installed to monitor the area's ventilation.

Our quality management system's goals are to enhance operational efficiencies and streamline processes. We adopt best practices such as milestone checkpoints, process controls, and goods tracking and storage system to stay on top of the way we manage our operation.
